U.S. to get IGT Slots in 2014
U.S. to get IGT Slots in 2014 With real-money gambling finally set to be licenced and regulated at the end of 2013 going in to 2014 in some U.S States, this article takes a look at some of the slot games that U.S players can expect to get their hands on. The ’Big 4′ slot machine developers most prominent in U.S. land-based casinos  are IGT, WMS, Bally Tech and Aristocrat but only one of these, IGT, is currently positioned to enter the U.S real-money gambling market as the first States go live. New Jersey started issuing licences in November 2013 with the first online casinos opening shortly before Christmas while both Delaware and Nevada are not far behind. California, Florida and several other States have proposed legislation going through the political loop and of course, every State has different rules and regulations with certain types of games allowed, others not. The common denominator is tax revenue. IGT have already identified a number of their popular slot machines that will be in the first tranch release in New Jersey. These games include the evergreen Cleopatra, Wolf Run, Siberian Storm, Monopoly Plus, DaVinci Diamonds and Kitty Glitter. Noticeably absent from the list are games like Pharaoh’s Fortune and branded slot games like Ghostbusters, Sex & The City and The Hangover, partly because not many of these are available in online format, partly because of brand-licensing issues. These slot machines will not be available to all online casinos opening in the State(s) mind you and a list of those which will feature the games is yet to materialise. I will update this article when that information becomes available. A free-play version of Cleopatra is already accessible to many U.S players. In addition to IGT slots, both Ainsworth and Incredible Technologies land-based titles will also be available from the get-go. Mustang Money, Roaming Reels, 50 Dolphins, Guys Night and Girl’s Day Out will all be released in some of the first online casinos to hit New Jersey and beyond as more States regulate throughout 2014. I find myself a little surprised at this point in time that there is nothing from WMS Gaming. Recently purchased by Scientific Games, I would expect this massive slot machine manufacturer to be announcing the release of some of their popular online slot titles in 2014. Games like The Wizard Of Oz, Bruce Lee and Zeus are among the most popular land-based games in Atlantic City and all are available in their online casino Jackpot Party and many through their Facebook App for free-play. It makes sense for Americans to have access to WMS slots for real-money once legislation is in place. As for Aristocrat, despite the fact that Ainsworth games (too similar to be coincidence!) are coming online so quickly might suggest that Aristocrat slots like Where’s The Gold, Pompeii and Choy Sun Doa might not be far behind. I’d love to see some of Aristocrat’s Wonder-4 slots online too but that might be a wish to far for now! The Australian firm does need to be careful not to tread on any toes that might threaten their land-based interests, especially where tax issues are concerned but nonetheless, the casinos taking on the U.S. punter would welcome the addition of any popular land-based content.
